Three Kebbi senators officially dump PDP for APC

Three senators from Kebbi state have formally defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The senators are Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South).

They announced their defection on Tuesday during plenary.

Their letters of defection were read on the floor of the red chamber by Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session.

The senators cited irreconcilable divisions in the PDP at the state level as the reason for their defection.

Their exit leaves the PDP with fewer seats in the Senate and further solidifies the APC’s majority in the upper legislative chamber.
