The 7 Most Harmful Foods People Keep Eating

Most people think they’re doing a good job of maintaining a healthy diet, but with the amount of misinformation out there, it’s easy to make mistakes. For example, many people continue to eat foods that are harmful to their health with no idea.......➡️CONTINUE READING THE FULL ARTICLES HERE.

However, if you want a place to start, these 7 foods should be avoided at all costs. They may taste great, but they’re just not worth the consequences!

1. Processed meats.

Processed meats are not only loaded with added preservatives, but they can also be high in sodium. Even if you’re eating the leanest cuts of meat, like turkey sandwich meat, you’re consuming over 10 times the saturated fat than if you were eating a vegetable sandwich.

Switching to low-sodium turkey can help reduce your risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. Just make sure to watch out for added sugars in your condiments.

2. Soda.

This one is a no-brainer. Soda is filled with high-fructose corn syrup and sugar, which is bad for your teeth and your waistline. What’s more, many sodas also contain caffeine and other additives that can be dangerous to your health.

3. Bacon.

Bacon provides a lot of calories, which can lead to weight gain or make you more susceptible to heart disease. It also contains nitrates which are carcinogenic in high doses.

4. Fried Foods.

Fried foods are often deep-fried in vegetable oil, which causes the body to produce harmful cholesterol particles called “Lipoproteins A1 (Lp(a))” that are associated with an increased risk of heart disease.

5. Fruit juices.

Fruit juice is sugar water. Sugary drinks are the leading cause of obesity and type 2 diabetes, according to the American Heart Association (AHA). Even though fruit juice is less sugary than soda, it’s still high in fructose. The AHA recommends limiting your intake of sugars to no more than four teaspoons every day.

You might be thinking, “Well, I can just drink juice on the weekends.” But that’s not how it works. Fruit juice is still sugar. And that sugar spikes your insulin levels, which can lead to more weight gain and chronic diseases.

6. Bread and other baked goods.

Most people eat bread with each meal. They may even think they’re doing themselves a favour with all the fibre and grains. But bread and other baked goods like rolls, biscuits, cakes, pies, cookies, doughnuts, muffins and scones are some of the more harmful foods people keep eating.

Many of these foods are made with ingredients like white flour and sugar. These ingredients are processed and can cause blood sugar levels to spike. And while people may feel a surge in energy after eating these foods, they often crash later.

This can cause a person to feel sleepier and less productive than before they ate the baked goods. Plus, when this type of food is consumed in excess, it can lead to massive weight gain.

7. Added sugars.

Added sugars are bad for more than just your teeth. They’re also harmful to your health. Cutting back on added sugars can help reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and obesity.

Most people don’t realize how much-added sugars they’re eating. Common sources of added sugars include sugar-sweetened drinks, desserts, and candy. Added sugars provide zero nutrients and zero health benefits, so it’s important to avoid these foods at all costs
