Pastor Jerry Eze Shares His Story: “I Never Knew Prayers Could Bring Fame”

Pastor Jerry Eze, founder of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD) and Lead Pastor of Streams of Joy International, has shared surprising truths about his rise to fame. In a heartfelt conversation with Chude Jideonwo, he revealed he never imagined leading prayers could make him popular.

“NSPPD wasn’t even the original name,” he said. “We just prayed until we realized we needed to call it something.”

Despite his fiery presence online, Pastor Eze described himself as calm and quiet off-camera. “People are shocked when they meet me. I don’t talk much in real life,” he noted.

“Anyone who knows me personally knows that’s not really me—the guy shouting every morning. I’m very calm. Outside NSPPD, I rarely talk. I’m quiet and careful with my words. So sometimes people struggle to reconcile the person they see online with who I am in real life,” he explained.

He also confessed he found it hard to watch his own broadcasts due to their intensity. Yet, his drive remains strong: “I just want to see people smile and be free.”
