Iyawe claimed that the leadership instability and many legal actions against LP leaders were the reasons he moved to the APC.
He revealed that his political goals aligned with his decision to defect from the LP to the APC.
Iyawe defected to the ruling APC together with three other members of the LP Rep.
Iyawe, however, attributed his defection to the leadership of LP’s failure to recognize the legitimate Caretaker Committee at the state and national levels in a statement he signed on Thursday.
He said, “I am writing to formally tender my resignation as a member of the Labour Party (LP), effective immediately.
