United boss Ruben Amorim is anticipated to need extra offensive firepower at the end of the season, since existing strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee are struggling to score goals.

Hojlund scored his first goal in 21 appearances against Premier League whipping boys Leicester, while Zirkzee has only three in the same time frame.

Given United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s recent cost-cutting initiatives, it’s unclear how much money Amorim will have available to enhance the squad.

However, Sky Germany reports that a four-man striker shortlist has been drawn up, with two Arsenal targets prominently featured.

Arsenal looked into a deal for Benjamin Sesko twice, in the January transfer window and last summer, and the RB Leipzig striker is now a target for United at the end of the season.

Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres is another player garnering interest from the Premier League, including Arsenal, while Manchester United have added the former Coventry star to their summer shortlist.

Both strikers are set to seek sums of more than £60 million. According to additional rumors, Sesko and Gyokeres have chosen to look into potential moves this summer.

United’s shortlist includes Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen. Ekitite is seen as a better fit than Osimhen, who is currently on loan with Galatasaray after failing to win a permanent move from Naples last summer.
