The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Faruq Adamu Kuta, the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, announced that Asue Ighodalo of the PDP polled 8,470 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the of the APC, Monday Okpebholo who scored 5,907 votes.
