American rapper Kanye West has once again captured global attention after making a surprising claim during a recent livestream — declaring that he is gay.
The Bittersweet artist made the statement while going on a chaotic and emotional rant, during which he also addressed frustrations surrounding his former wife, Kim Kardashian.
Kanye and Kim, who were married from 2014 to 2022, share four children together. Although their marriage ended in divorce, both have remained active in co-parenting responsibilities.
In the viral video, Kanye appears dressed entirely in black, his face concealed by a full-covering mask. While discussing his struggles and control over his future, he repeatedly claimed he is gay.
He also emphasized that he is not seeking to be idolized, but instead wants to lead his own path and be in control of his legacy. His words in the video were:
“I’m not here to be your idol, I’m the leader. I’m not here to be worshipped. And as a leader I’m saying, how am I supposed to lead y’all if I don’t get my kids with me to continue what we are doing? I ain’t got no mother**ng legacy so why the fk you think I be s* at n****? Twigs in charge of my motherng legacy, and I’m gay. Twigs in charge of my motherfing legacy, and I’m gay n*.”
This shocking moment came just days after Kanye posted a disturbing message on X (formerly Twitter), writing:
“My name is Ye and I sucked my cousin’s d*** till I was 14,”
— a line believed to be linked to a song he teased titled COUSINS.
Soon after, he shared a rainbow emoji, captioning it: “This is my new logo.” However, he later walked back the comment, stating he is not actually gay.
