Due to VeryDarkMan’s arrest, a man closes his GTBank account

A concerned Nigerian has taken a bold stand on social media by withdrawing all his funds from GTBank in protest of the arrest of popular social media personality, VeryDarkMan (VDM).

Posting via X (formerly known as Twitter), the man condemned the bank for its alleged involvement in VDM’s detention and issued a stern warning, saying the influencer must be released immediately or the bank should leave the country.

Reports indicate that VeryDarkMan was picked up by the police at a GTBank branch in Abuja after accompanying his mother to lodge a complaint about unauthorized deductions from her account, despite no pending loans.

In a video shared online, VDM’s brother recounted how officers apprehended him inside the banking hall, leaving their mother distressed and in tears.

Reacting to the development, the protesting customer tweeted:
“Just moved all my money out of GTBank. Arresting VDM was one of their greatest mistakes. #FreeVDM or get out of Nigeria.”
