Wike maintained that Fubara was involved in anti-party activities and was endorsed by Bala Muhammed, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors’ forum and governor of Bauchi state. He then criticises those who called for his suspension for supporting another candidate during the 2023 presidential elections.
Rivers LG election: APP won 22 of 23 seats
This allegation comes after APP won 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions, a surprising outcome given Fubara’s affiliation with the PDP, which did not participate in the elections.
Wike, now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), made these claims on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Tuesday, October 8, which was monitored by Legit.ng.
He stated:
“Today, people say ‘Discipline Wike, he did anti-party’. Today, what happened? The governor (Fubara) is the one who sponsored APP.”

Fubara set to probe burning of LG secretariats
Legit earlier reported that Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers state, has said he will ensure those behind the burning of local government secretariats in the state face the wrath of the law.
During the swearing of new commissioners, the governor made the vow, adding that his government would not stand and watch political thugs in the state.
Following the outcome of local government elections in the state, no less than four council secretariats were burned down.
