Atiku reacts to Boko Haram’s attack on military base, killing of soldiers

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to the attack on a Nigerian military Base by members of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

Atiku, while condemning the attack and killing of soldiers, said the news about the incident broke his heart.

In a post on X on Tuesday, the former vice president said the bravery and ultimate sacrifice paid by the fallen soldiers would always be remembered.

He wrote, “I am heartbroken by the news of the attack on a military base in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State, which resulted in the loss of our courageous soldiers. Their bravery and sacrifice in the face of terror will always be remembered.

“My thoughts and prayers are with their families and other service men and women. We must take more decisive actions that will not just scale down the aggression by militants, but also promote an economy that gives hope to our young ones and restore peace to our country,” Atiku said.

Recall that some soldiers were killed at a military base in the Marte Local Government Area of Borno State.

The soldiers died while some Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack on the military base at about 3 am on Monday.
