The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi, has been kidnapped.
Adepoyigi was said to have been kidnapped by some yet-to-be-identified gunmen on the evening of Monday, May 12.
The chairman who serves the Ifon Ward 5 in Ose LGA was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway.
Olayinka Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the Ondo police command, while confirming the incident, said security operatives in the state are working together to ensure the rescue of the APC leader.
His words. “I can confirm to you that the chairman APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo road.
“At the receipt of the report, the DPO Ifon, in collaboration with the hunters, local VGN and Nigeria Army personnel, have launched a manhunt for the suspects,” Ayanlade said.
He further appealed to anyone with information that could aid the police team in its effort to rescue the politician to come forward with that.
