Rashford’s United future has been the subject of intense speculation over the past few weeks after he fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim.
Shortly before Christmas, Rashford admitted in an interview that he was ready for a new challenge away from Old Trafford. Since then, he has not featured for United.
A report covered by The Peoples Person suggested that Amorim and Rashford fell out shortly after the Portuguese coach’s appointment as Erik ten Hag’s replacement. It’s understood that the pair were involved in a heated incident after Amorim accused Rashford of going on a night out – a claim the player vehemently denied.
Several clubs expressed interest in Rashford but his wages, believed to be in excess of £300,000-per-week, proved to be a major stumbling block.
It was repeatedly mentioned that Rashford’s preference was to seal a switch to Barcelona but the Catalan giants simply could not afford to have him join their ranks.
Ahead of the February 3 transfer deadline, Villa entered talks with United over a loan move for Rashford, at the personal request of Unai Emery.
It was stated that Emery is a huge fan of the Carrington academy graduate and believes he can help him rediscover himself.
On Sunday morning, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that everything was in place for Rashford to join Villa, with the transfer expert even dishing out his famous “here we go” catchphrase.
A few hours ago, Romano gave a slight update, indicating that Rashford had completed his medical at Villa Park.
Now, Sam Cohen has released a picture of Rashford seemingly putting pen to paper on his deal with Emery’s side.
In the leaked photo, Rashford is seen smiling alongside Villa’s president of football operations, Monchi.
Villa sit eighth in the Premier League table, four points fourth-placed Manchester City, and five places and eight points ahead of the Red Devils.
