Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Breaks The Record For The Fastest Half-mile Standing Speed

Koenigsegg has a tendency to set new records whenever they take the Jesko out on the track. This time when the Jesko Absolut was at the private test track, it set a new world record for the highest top speed in a standing 1/2 mile.

The Jesko Absolut clocked 224 mph over the standing half-mile with Markus Lundh at the wheel. The hypercar accelerated to 62 mph from a standstill in just 2.79 seconds. The sprint from 62 to 124 mph took just 2.74 seconds, and 124 to 186 mph was done and dusted in 3.96 seconds. It crossed the quarter-mile marker in 8.88 seconds.

The Jesko Absolut also holds the record for the fastest 0-400-0 km/h, beating the previous record set by its stablemate, the Regera. The Jesko Absolut accelerated to a top speed of 412.72 km/h (256.45 mph). The time taken for the car to sprint from 0-400 km/h and back to a standstill was 27.83 seconds.

The Jesko Absolut is the low-drag version capable of reaching speeds in excess of 300 mph. At its heart is a 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with a peak output of 1600 hp and 1106 lb-ft of torque. The engine drives the rear wheels via a 9-speed multi-clutch transmission.
