Stanley Ontop Accuses Mercy Chinwo of Orchestrating VeryDarkMan’s Arrest

A new wave of controversy has hit the Nigerian entertainment scene as gospel singer Mercy Chinwo is accused of being involved in the arrest of outspoken social media critic, VeryDarkMan.

VeryDarkMan’s recent arrest has continued to stir reactions online, with authorities yet to disclose full details behind his detention. While speculation mounts, a surprising accusation has emerged from popular Nollywood producer Stanley Ontop, who pointed fingers at Mercy Chinwo.

According to Stanley, he reached out to the gospel singer via Instagram to inquire about her alleged role in the arrest. However, instead of a response, he claimed Mercy blocked him — a move he interpreted as suspicious.

The arrest comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between Mercy Chinwo and VeryDarkMan, which stems from comments the influencer made regarding her previous conflict with her former record label boss, Eezee Tee.

Stanley Ontop did not hold back in his reaction. Declaring that he isn’t afraid of law enforcement, the filmmaker called for the immediate release of VeryDarkMan, emphasizing that silencing critics through force is unacceptable in a democratic society.

The accusations have since ignited heated debates online, with fans and critics alike weighing in on the growing saga.

His post reads, “Mercy Chinwo blocked me on IG last night because I told her and her husband to free VDM. It’s laughable how a minister of God would just block me for saying the truth. Next , they will use police to harass me now, watch”.
