“We address you today on yet another sinister move by the enemies of peace and tranquility in Takum which if left unchecked is most likely to throw Takum and its environs into another round of unrest,” Ukwen observed.

The group also urged the Federal Government and the international community to intervene as the Ukwe Takum Palace housed the graves of their ancestors and other historical traditional artifats, which must not be tampered with.

“Moreover an appeal against the decision of the High Court of Taraba State on the Takum Chieftaincy dispute and the preservation of the Palace is pending before the Court of Appeal Yola and and so people should be law abiding,” he noted

The KYN appealed to all peace-loving and highly spirited individuals to intervene to stop what it termed “Devilish Plans”, and also urged the Government to shelve the plan and adviced Kuteb Youth to remain calm and law-abiding as they await the response of the authorities on the matter.

The National President noted that their fear on the alleged plans to demolish the Takum Central Mosque and the Palace of Ukwe Takum was highten by the visit of the Engineer, ACC Construction firm for the proposed T Y Danjuma University Takum in company of the DPO in Takum and Chamba militias in vigilante uniforms who were sighted marking and pegging the Palace and the mosque which was constructed in 1912.

But in a swift reaction to the allegations, Special Adviser to Taraba State Governor on Islamic Matters, Hussaini Isma’il described the allegations as baseless rumours, adding that the Administration of Dr. Agbu Kefas is dedicated in supporting the Muslims community across Taraba State.

Isma’il urged the KYN not to exploit the situation for their agenda to distract the Muslims community in Takum.

and appealed to the good people of Taraba State to continue to support and be prayerful to the Governor as he works tirelessly to build a better Taraba.
