A supporter of controversial online personality VeryDarkMan has accused GTBank and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of working together to allegedly “kidnap” the influencer from a specific bank branch in Abuja.
According to a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the fan identified the location of the incident as GTBank’s branch at Plot 1072, J.S. Tarka, Faskari Street, Area 3, Abuja. The post has fueled online outrage, with the user accusing both the financial institution and the EFCC of orchestrating an unlawful arrest.
Earlier reports had revealed that VeryDarkMan was taken into custody after accompanying his mother to the bank to protest suspicious and unauthorized deductions from her account, despite the absence of any known debt or loan.
Although full details surrounding the arrest are still emerging, eyewitnesses claimed a police presence was involved in detaining the social media figure at the bank premises.
The fan’s post read:
This is the branch where VeryDarkMan was kidnapped by the EFCC in ‘cooperation’ with GTBank: Plot 1072, J.S. Tarka, Faskari St, Area 3, Abuja.
As of the time of this report, neither GTBank nor the EFCC has released an official statement addressing the allegations.
