The monarch said he will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to permanently bring peace to the once boisterous economic hub of the state by collaborating with the Benue State Government and the law enforcement agencies to fish out those that have continued to instigate criminality in Sankera.
The Tor Tiv, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and ICT, Mr. Freddie Adamgbe, noted that the role of traditional rulers is to guarantee the safety and protection of traditional and cultural values of their people and not to compound their plight.
He said any traditional ruler found to have compromised the standard practices expected of them, they shall not be spared.
The Tor Tiv warned that any efforts by some enemies of the people to silence those with useful information for fishing out the culprits and their collaborators in the criminality will not be taken kindly.
He further called on the government and security agencies to ensure the protection of all informants with relevant information on the crisis.
Prof. Ayatse commended the leaders in Sankera and the Bishop of Katsina Ala Diocese, Most Rev. Bundepuun Dugu and other members of the clergy for their unwavering efforts and the crucial meetings aimed at restoring peace in the area and urged them to sustain such efforts in order to achieve the desired results.
He regretted that despite the tough times the people are facing, the youths in Sankera have chosen to collaborate with enemies to unleash more terror in their communities by destroying the economy and farm produce when there is the urgent need to find lasting solution to the menace.
The Tor Tiv however, urged the people of Sankera to have strong faith in the power of God who is the only one that can touch the hearts of the bad elements to stop terrorizing their land.
He vowed to take urgent and appropriate actions to address the situation so as to restore the confidence of the general public in the traditional institution.
