
The Niger State Governor, Umar Bago has said that with the abundant resources Nigeria has been blessed with, the nation should not have any business with poverty.
Speaking at the Taraba International Investment Summit 2025, Bago said the state for example, has an arable land, water and every resource needed to boost agriculture in the country.
He also urged governments at all levels to ensure that they invest in the provision of an enabling environment that would create room for investors and the private sector to thrive in their business.
His words, “All the factors of production are inherent here in Taraba State and it was enumerated in the speech of Alhaji ALiko Dangote, you have the land, you have water, you have sun.
“People from Europe would barely farm for three months in a year but we can farm 24 hours, seven days, 356 days a year.
“It means we have no business with poverty so government must be an enabler of business, you must provide an enabling environment for business to thrive. You must invest in assets and capital procurement so that the private sector,” Bago said.
